Eco-trek - Chiang Mai  2 days

THAI TREK ADVENTURE offers you an outstanding private trekking experience — far more carefully organized and demanding than those usually offered by Chiang Mai agencies! We invite you to hike in an exceptional, little-visited jungle area located 60 kilometers north of the city. There, you will meet the Red Lahu, a mountain minority settled in Thailand since the 18th century, observe the luxuriant flora of northern Thailand, swim in waterfalls and a secluded cave deep in the jungle, and discover magnificent panoramas from the heights.

Program

Day 1
  • Hotel pick-up between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m.
  • Drive of about 1.5 hours to the starting point of the trek.
  • Approximately 4 hours of trekking through the rainforest (humid evergreen forest). Discover a rich variety of flora, including bamboo groves, giant dipterocarps, wildflowers, and orchids.
  • Arrival in a Lahu village around 4:00 p.m.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in the village.
Day 2
  • Breakfast at the village.
  • Trek through mountains and jungle.
  • Discovery of a secluded waterfall deep in the forest (relaxation and swimming).
  • Exploration of the astonishing bat cave.
  • Crossing through various villages and hamlets of mountain tribes.
  • The return to Chiang Mai is around 5:00 p.m., and we drop you off at your hotel where we picked you up in the morning.

  • Small backpack
  • Hiking shoes or good sports shoes
  • Hiking pants or cargo pants
  • Hat (bucket hat or cap)
  • T-Shirt or long sleeve
  • Socks
  • Dry change of clothes for the evening
  • Swimsuit or shorts
  • A towel
  • Sweater in the cold season (December–January)
  • Mosquito repellent spray
  • Sunscreen
  • Flashlight

Price includes :

RATE: 3500 baht per person (minimum 4 people). 4500 baht per person for 2 or 3 people.

  • WARNING: This trekking is a real jungle trek, which means hiking conditions can be challenging during the monsoon season (the paths can be slippery). We also sleep in an authentic Lahu village in the mountains, which means the accommodation is basic (thin mattresses, cold water, etc.)!
