Embark on a 14-day immersive adventure through the northern and central regions of Thailand, an enchanting journey across Chiang Mai, the Golden Triangle, Sukhothai, Bangkok, and Khao Yai National Park. Discover cultural richness by meeting mountain tribes such as the Hmong, Akha, Palaung, Padong, Kayah, and Khamu. Program

Day 1
  • Arrival in Chiang Mai – Pick-up at the airport (time to be determined).
  • Check-in at hotel - Open afternoon (relax, massage, etc.).
  • Lan Na–style dinner (specific culture of northern Thailand) at Khum Khantoke with traditional Thai dances.
  • Night in a 3 or 4 star hotel in Chiang Mai.
Day 2
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit of the Chiang Mai region: tour of Doi Suthep temple at 1,050 meters altitude (the most beautiful in northern Thailand – superb panorama!).
  • Introduction to Theravada Buddhism.
  • Visit to the White Hmong village of Ban Chang Khian and its magnificent coffee plantation at 1,500 meters altitude (Thai arabica tasting).
  • Drive along a laterite track by 4x4 through the jungle, rice fields, and lychee plantations.
  • Magnificent scenery!
  • Thai lunch near the beautiful Huay Tung Tao Lake at the foot of the mountain (swimming possible).
  • Return to hotel.
  • Dinner on your own in Chiang Mai.
  • Night in a 3 or 4 star hotel in Chiang Mai.
Day 3
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Drive to the Golden Triangle (approx. 200 km). Along the way, visit Doi Ang Kang Mountain, villages and the Silver Palaung market (in the cold season), high-altitude strawberry and flower plantations, the Burmese border (former combat positions of soldiers fighting against opium traffickers), and the very authentic Black Lahu village. Superb panorama over Myanmar.
  • Lunch at the top of Dol Ang Kan.
  • Dinner and evening in the village of Ban Loyo, with the Akha Loimi people (a Tibeto-Burmese mountain tribe), in the heart of the Golden Triangle.
  • Overnight stay in a bungalow in an Akha Loimi village homestay.
Jour 4
  • Breakfast in the homestay of the Akha Loimi village.
  • Day dedicated to visiting the region (remarkable road with numerous panoramas, plantations, rice fields, etc.). Visit to the Burmese refugee village (Padong people, also known as the “long-neck” people).
  • Lunch (Yunnan Chinese cuisine) in Mae Salong, an incredible little town built at high altitude by Kuomintang nationalist Chinese (former opium smugglers) in the 1960s.
  • Visit to high-altitude tea plantations. Tasting of local tea and coffee.
  • Scenic drive to Chiang Khong with many panoramic stops in the mountains and then along the Mekong.
  • Check-in at your hotel room.
  • Thaï dinner in Chiang Kong on the Mékong river.
  • Overnight stay in a 4 star hotel in Chiang Khong on the banks of the Mekong.
Jour 5
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Drive to the incredible Monkey Monastery, a magical place along a limestone cliff where Buddhist monks live in harmony with a colony of Assam macaques.
  • Drive to Chiang Rai along a magnificent road dotted with Hmong villages and slash-and-burn fields (many panoramas!).
  • Thai buffet lunch in Chiang Rai.
  • Afternoon: choice of relaxation (swimming pool, massages, etc.) or visit to the astonishing Wat Huay Pla Kang and its giant statue of Guanyin — an incredible place!
  • Thai dinner and visit to the Chiang Rai night market.
  • Overnight in a 3-4 star hotel in Chiang Rai.
Jour 6
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit to the Blue Temple, followed by the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun), famous worldwide. Lunch near the White Temple.
  • Drive from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai (186 km). Many possible stops along the way (hot springs, viewpoints, cafés, etc.).
  • Dinner on your own in Chiang Mai.
  • Night in a 3 or 4 star hotel in Chiang Mai.
Jour 7
  • 1/ One-day jungle trek (about 4 to 5 hours of walking depending on the level) in one of the most beautiful primary forest areas of northern Thailand, accompanied by our guide, a specialist in flora (plants, flowers, trees, etc.) and fauna. Lunch in the heart of the jungle. Passage through a superb canyon (a true movie set!) followed by swimming in a hidden waterfall deep in the wilderness. Possibility of seeing monkeys (pig-tailed macaques) in the jungle and many birds. Return to Chiang Mai around 5:00 p.m.

  • 2/ Vehicle tour of the magnificent Doi Inthanon National Park, the highest peak in Thailand (2,565 meters). Visit to a beautiful Karen village, the stunning Wachiratan waterfalls, walk along the Kew Mae Pan trail to discover the magnificent high-altitude rainforest with its orchids, epiphytic plants, giant rhododendrons, etc. (sightings of the Sumatran serow, a type of Asian goat-antelope, are possible!), visit to a Hmong market. Return to Chiang Mai between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.
  • Dinner in Chiang Mai.
  • Night in a 3 or 4 star hotel in Chiang Mai.
Jour 8
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Morning: Trip to Chiang Mai to Sukhothai (305 km).
  • Thaï lunch in Sukhothai.
  • Visit the ancient capital of Sukhothai (13th-14th century) a UNESCO Heritage Site.
  • Historical and architectural guide.
  • Thaï dinner in Sukhothai.
  • Nuit en resort à Sukhotai.
Jour 9
  • Breakfast at the resort.
  • Drive from Sukhothai to Lopburi (322 km).
  • Visit to the city of Lopburi and the Khmer temple Wat Prang Sam Yot Mahathat, completely overrun by monkeys (crab-eating macaques).
  • Lunch at a street restaurant in Lopburi.
  • Drive from Lopburi to Bangkok (177 km).
  • Dinner at a Thai restaurant by the Chao Phraya River.
  • Overnight stay in a 3 start hotel in Bangkok.
Jour 10
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Morning: Visit to the Royal Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
  • Boat cruise on the Chao Phraya River and through Bangkok’s klongs (canals).
  • Lunch at a Thai street restaurant.
  • Afternoon: choice of visiting Wat Pho Temple with its giant reclining Buddha or shopping in Bangkok’s incredible malls.
  • Open Dinner (on your own).
  • Overnight stay in a 3 start hotel in Bangkok.
Jour 11
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Morning: Roadtrip to Bangkok-Khao Yai (173 km).
  • Thai lunch in the national park restaurant.
  • Afternoon: drive through the national park. First wildlife observations at several sites (observation tower, etc.).
  • Thai dinner in the main restaurant of Khao Yai National Park.
  • Overnight stay in a bungalow in the national park.
Jour 12
  • Breakfast in the national park (wake up to the calls of hornbills and the cries of gibbons).
  • Day of hiking in the jungle and savanna. Observation of numerous wild animals (elephants, gibbons, macaques, deer, civets, bears, hornbills, pythons and various snakes, agamids, gaurs, etc.).
  • Thai lunch in one of the small restaurants in the national park.
  • Thai dinner in the main restaurant of Khao Yai National Park.
  • Overnight stay in a bungalow in the national park.
Jour 13
  • Breakfast in the national park.
  • Morning: Roadtrip to Khao Yai-Bangkok (173 km).
  • Arrive in Bangkok and lunch in a thaï restaurant.
  • Free afternoon.
  • Open Dinner (on your own).
  • Overnight stay in a 3 start hotel in Bangkok.
Jour 14
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Transportation from your hotel to Suvarnabhumi airport (hours to be determined).
  • Return flight for France (or another destination in Thailand).
  • End of tour.
