Jungle Adventure Trek - Chiang Mai
Jungle Adventure Trek - Chiang Mai 1 day
This trek is a true hike in the deep jungle, far from Chiang Mai’s usual tourist trails. While it does not require any particular physical condition, it involves about 5 hours of walking. However, we make numerous stops to observe animals and learn about the plants. An authentic experience far from the traditional tourist trek.

Program
Day 1
- We will pick you up at your hotel between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m.
- We set off from a very small “khon muang” village (the indigenous Thais of the North, mainly rural people) located on the edge of the forest at an altitude of 400 meters, then begin an ascent that takes us into the humid evergreen forest (monsoon forest). Our Thai guide, a specialist in Thai flora and fauna, shows us numerous species of plants (medicinal, healing, culinary, utilitarian, etc.), as well as wildflowers and fruits.
- Upon reaching an altitude of 1,100 meters, we begin a walk along the ridgelines, allowing us to observe numerous wild orchids, various epiphytic plants, and many birds, including the rare and spectacular scarlet minivet. On both sides of the ridges, the views over the jungle are magnificent! We then enter an area of dense vegetation where superb large trees of the dipterocarp family rise above us and where a small colony of pig-tailed macaques lives (they are usually spotted every other visit!). This is where we have our lunch in the heart of the jungle.
- We then follow a stream at the bottom of a valley and emerge into an extraordinary canyon with rock walls covered in vegetation (a true movie set worthy of Indiana Jones!). After crossing several drops, we reach a hidden waterfall deep in the jungle (it took us two weeks to find it!). This is the perfect opportunity to rest and even swim in incredibly clear, refreshing water.
- We exit the canyon and cross the stream, then follow a beautiful forest trail that we have developed deep in the jungle. The panoramas are superb, and we can observe several species of birds, insects, and sometimes even snakes. Finally, we reach the orchards and small banana plantations surrounding the “khon muang” village. This is the perfect opportunity to taste some local fruits and, for those who wish, enjoy the coffee produced in the village. The return to Chiang Mai is then made by vehicle, and we drop you off at your hotel where we picked you up in the morning.
