    FAQ

    The following documents are required to travel to Thailand:

    1. Passport Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months after your planned departure date from Thailand.
    2. Visa For many countries, a 30-day tourist visa is granted on arrival in Thailand. However, please check the visa requirements specific to your nationality before traveling. If you plan to stay longer than 30 days, you may need to obtain a visa in advance.
    3. Return or onward ticket You may need to present a return or onward ticket when you arrive in Thailand to show that you will be leaving the country at the end of your stay.
    4. Travel insurance : Although not mandatory, travel insurance covering emergency medical care, trip cancellation and baggage coverage is recommended.
    5. Proof of sufficient funds You may be asked to show proof of sufficient funds to cover your expenses during your stay in Thailand.

    It is advisable to consult the Thai embassy or consulate in your country for the most up-to-date information on travel requirements.

    Thailand offers different experiences throughout the year, but the best time to visit depends on your preferences for climate and activities. Here's an overview of the seasons in Thailand:

    1. Dry season (November to April): This is generally considered the best time to visit Thailand due to the sunny weather and pleasant temperatures. This period is ideal for outdoor activities, scuba diving, exploring islands and beaches, and visiting historical and cultural sites.
    2. Rainy season (May to October): During this period, Thailand experiences regular rains, mainly in the afternoons and evenings. Although the rains can make certain activities more difficult, such as hiking in the mountains or exploring certain remote areas, this season also offers lush landscapes and a less crowded atmosphere.
    3. Monsoon season (July to October): This period can be marked by heavy rain and flooding in some areas, particularly in the north and northeast of Thailand. Travel to these areas may be affected, but coastal destinations such as Phuket and Koh Samui often offer milder weather conditions.

    In summary, the best time to visit Thailand depends on your personal preferences and the activities you wish to do. If you prefer dry, sunny weather, the dry season is ideal, but if you want to avoid the crowds and discover Thailand from a different angle, the rainy season can also offer a rewarding experience.

    When trekking in the jungle, we recommend wearing good hiking or sports shoes and long pants. This will protect you against stinging and poisonous plants (up to 2 % of plants in rainforests) as well as insects of all kinds, beetles and certain arthropods.

    Here is our recommended equipment list for a 2 or 3 day trek in Northern Thailand:

      1 - a small backpack ;

      2 - a pair of walking shoes or good sports shoes (avoid smooth soles);

      3 - sturdy pants (military fatigues are best!);

      4 - 2 or 3 T-shirts or shirts (as for pants, "natural" colors - black, green, brown, gray, camouflage - are preferable to bright colors if you want to see animals (fluorescent pinks, reds or yellows are to be avoided!);

      5 - 2 or 3 changes of underwear (briefs, panties) ;

      6 - 2 or 3 pairs of socks (it's important to always have a spare pair of dry socks, as feet get wet in the jungle!) ;

      7 - a bathing suit (waterfalls are frequent in the jungle and it is possible to swim in them);

      8 - a towel ;

      9 - a toiletry kit (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, razor, etc.);

    10 - a hat (bob or cap) ;

    11 - An anti-mosquito spray ;

    12 - a headlamp or flashlight (some tribal villages have no electricity!) ;

    13 - a poncho or K-way (especially in the rainy season between late July and early November);

    14 - a pullover or fleece for the evening (in the cold season from late November to late January).
