The trek we did yesterday was a magnificent day with Toy. Everything was perfect—the trek is truly beautiful and nothing like the usual treks offered in Chiang Mai. We had booked 2 excursions. The first was a visit around Chiang Mai. We were picked up around 8 a.m. from our hotel and went to magnificent Doi Suthep with views over the city, then visited a coffee plantation with beautiful vegetation, followed by a meal in an authentic Hmong village with very beautiful landscapes. The second day was elephant and rafting. We arrived at a farm on the edge of the jungle — magnificent. The elephants are completely free. Warm welcome, introduction to preparing the elephants’ food, then a magical walk with two female elephants. This proximity to the giants was in complete trust. Then the elephants were refreshed in the river, a memorable moment. Meal at the farm. Hike today at Doi Suthep with magnificent discoveries: the Hmong village with its inhabitants of all ages! Their diverse plantations (coffee, lychee, oranges, banana trees…) amidst the forest mixing pines and eucalyptus. We were filled with the sounds of unfamiliar birds, dodged caterpillars, and observed butterflies. A well-deserved lunch by the lake with local specialties, swimming as desired, observing the mountain summit and the trail traveled before returning to Chiang Mai. To visit the region around Chiang Mai and towards the Golden Triangle, we chose to use the services of this French-speaking agency managed by a Frenchman who fell in love with this part of Thailand and is eager to share his love for this environment and the local inhabitants. Two timeless days… I took the 1 day 1 night package at the elephant conservation camp. I was traveling solo, so you can imagine I was a bit stressed about sleeping alone away from the city… and so far it is the most beautiful experience I have had during my 3 weeks in Thailand. For me, all the beauty was precisely when the other people left (I was the only one sleeping on site) and I found myself alone with the camp people, and at the same time with the elephants! We spent 2 memorable days with Thai Trek. One day and night in their elephant sanctuary (preparing their lunch, cutting grass and banana trunks for the next day, walking with them and a bath much appreciated by both them and us). At the end of the day, we were taken care of by Gon, the local guide, for the discovery of the village and especially the grocery store which also served as a "bistro." Fully immersed in this unknown land, this moment will clearly remain one of our best memories in Thailand. The pace of the hike was adapted to the group. I was with my 2 children (13 and 10 years old); they enjoyed walking in this lush nature. My daughter, who could have had difficulties, was cared for by the 2 people accompanying our small group. Elephant camp: a suspended moment with these impressive pachyderms within a welcoming family. We had the chance to share a moment with the elephants, discover them, feed them, and prepare medicinal balls. My children, initially impressed by contact with the elephants, quickly gained confidence and enjoyed the moment thanks to the kindness and patience of the people at the camp. Sleeping on site is a plus to feel fully immersed in this Thai countryside. The organization is top-notch.

We had a very beautiful day visiting the WONDERFUL WAT CHALOEM PRAKIAT. Excellent service, care, advice, vehicle comfort and driving, and a very good choice of itinerary. (You do need to be in decent shape, though,) but it’s magnificent. A big thank you to Mr. Pong.

We did the eco-trek program with the local guide named Simon, and it was amazing! He is very funny, cheerful, and full of enthusiasm! The landscapes were stunning, and the food was delicious.

A day of hiking in the jungle with a guide who shares his knowledge and passion, in a small group, far from mass tourism—a beautiful nature day where you learn so many things. And two days of guided trekking with an overnight stay in a mountain village, incredible landscapes, a cave full of bats—two days that really do you good if you love peace and the beauty of nature, all perfectly well organized.

We took the elephant sanctuary day with Thai Trek Adventure on 23/04/25, with bamboo rafting on the river in the afternoon (not enough water flow for rafting). It was a wonderful day, with pick-up at our hotel in Chiang Mai in a comfortable minibus. The morning with the elephants was amazing (preparing their food with detailed explanations), then getting close to the 3 elephants, walking with them, and finally bathing in the river (we splashed the elephants and could even stand right next to them—we ended up soaked but happy!). The meal was good. The sanctuary staff were adorable and attentive. The bamboo rafting was very peaceful and also allowed us to pass by another huge elephant sanctuary, where you can admire the elephants and even see them bathing. At the end, the guide even took us to swim in another part of the river. In short, go with your eyes closed—you will live a memorable day. Thanks again!

Hello, I went on a jungle trekking adventure. There were only two of us with the two guides, and it was absolutely amazing. We walked for about 5 hours, but with many breaks where Troy, our guide who was born and lives here, explained the local flora and fauna. We didn’t meet anyone else all day and had a picnic in a fabulous spot. I highly recommend this outing.

As a family, we spent one of the best days of our lives (and the best day of our trip so far!) deep in the jungle! We will remember it for a long time: we learned a lot about the local flora (what can be eaten, what heals, etc.) and the jungle fauna (we didn’t see any tigers or pythons, but we did see a chameleon, a jungle turtle, beautiful butterflies, birds, insects, caterpillars, etc.); the guides Troy and Yo were fantastic—caring with the children and true jungle experts; we were accompanied by 3 adorable dogs; the meal was delicious; and the organization by Thai Trek was excellent! It was an exceptional day, which still requires good physical condition, and I recommend Thai Trek Adventure without hesitation! Thank you to David for his professionalism and responsiveness!

A simply unforgettable day for my son, my husband, and myself. Marked by simplicity, peace, and kindness, we spent the whole day with the team alongside the 3 elephants there. We spent a wonderful day in Doi Inthanon National Park. The impressive waterfall, the long and peaceful walk through the jungle guided by our Karen guide, and the newly transplanted rice fields (a serene and truly beautiful landscape) completely enchanted us.

We spent 3 days as a family discovering the “Golden Triangle” with our great guide Alex and our driver Pat. We especially enjoyed visiting the different local villages of the North and meeting the ethnic minorities, far from the tourist crowds, as well as spending a night in a local guesthouse in the middle of the jungle. The program of this tour included: visiting a cave, exploring Buddhist temples, discovering local markets, visiting tea plantations, a boat ride on the Mekong all the way to Laos, and enjoying beautiful panoramas. Thank you to David for the organization, and thank you to Alex and Pat for these wonderful discoveries. We truly felt transported!

An exceptional day at the Elephant Preservation Camp with Toni, far from overtourism. We spent a magical day respecting the elephants’ rhythm, taking part in preparing their meals and going on a walk with them. My eyes still sparkle just looking at the photos. I highly recommend it. Rice fields and Doi Inthanon day. A fantastic day with our driver and our Karen guide for the trek. Lots of magnificent landscapes (waterfalls, jungle, rice fields) and very nice encounters with Thai people. Only the peaks of Doi Inthanon weren’t very visible because of the bad weather, but that didn’t spoil the day at all. We were with 2 children (6 and 8 years old); the walks had no real difficulty, but good shoes are recommended. In July, don’t forget a rain poncho.

Thank you for this wonderful visit around Chiang Mai. We especially enjoyed the visit to the monastery as well as the break at the café with its magnificent view over the jungle. Great organization of excursions that are original and sometimes off the beaten tourist tracks! This is the second time we’ve booked with you, and we have nothing to say except thank you. (Customized day at the rice terraces of Ban Pa Pong Piang + Huay Tung Tao. Private one-day visit of Chiang Rai temples. Two-day trekking followed by a day at the elephant preservation camp with rafting – 3 days / 2 nights).

Off we went for our trekking day, starting from a very small “Khon Muang” village, with pomelos and avocados growing in their gardens… then we began the ascent into the humid forest, with butterflies, mushrooms, and insects all around. Our Thai guide, a specialist in local flora and fauna, showed us many species of plants (medicinal, healing, culinary, utilitarian, etc.), as well as wild flowers and fruits. A true delight for the senses. The climb up to 1,500 meters was tough—especially for me as a bit of a beginner. That’s where we had our lunch, right in the middle of the jungle, carefully prepared for us and absolutely delicious. We then followed a stream—almost like canyoning. Not very easy, but exciting and perfectly manageable. After that, we cooled off at a hidden waterfall deep in the jungle. A chance to rest and even swim in incredibly crystal-clear and refreshing water. An excellent day—we are really happy with our trek! (Jungle Adventure Trek – 1 day)

Hello, I just wanted to thank you again for this wonderful day spent on the Pha Dok Sieo trail and at the Ban Pa Pong Piang rice fields. Too bad about the heavy rain at the pagodas at the end of the day, but well—it is the season! It didn’t take away from the fact that we had breathtaking views all day long. A wonderful day with Josh today visiting the White and Blue Temples in Chiang Rai, as well as the Big Buddha at Wat Huay Pla Kang, which is truly majestic. Josh took great care of us all day, and we had lots of meaningful exchanges with him. A timeless day… From pickup to drop-off, everything was perfect. The site is nestled in the mountains by a river, where we were warmly welcomed by Noï who runs the camp — and from then on, everything unfolded seamlessly… the magic truly happened. We spent 3 unforgettable days in the Golden Triangle. A big thank you to David for organizing the trip, for his responsiveness during our exchanges, and for making us feel at ease. 2-day / 1-night eco-trek in the jungle with our family and two teenagers (12 and 14 years old). It was an incredible experience: breathtaking nature, a bat cave, overnight stay in a Lahu village where we played with the children, a waterfall, and rafting. Simon, our guide, was fantastic and spoke very good English. We 100% recommend this experience—just keep in mind it’s best suited for good walkers. Thank you, Thai Trek Adventure!
