Program
Day 1
- Pick-up at your hotel around 8:00 a.m.
- Ascent of the Suthep Mountain road by vehicle (15 km).
- Stop at a small, little-known and secluded forest monastery.
- Visit to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, built in the 14th century (one of the most famous temples in Thailand!), with its renowned 306-step staircase guarded by two Nagas, its golden chedi, and frescoes depicting the life of Buddha Shakyamuni.
- Continue the ascent of the mountain. Stop at a superb viewpoint overlooking the White Hmong village of Ban Doi Pui.
- Stop at a beautiful high-altitude coffee plantation (arabica tasting available) located deep in the jungle.
- Visit to the White Hmong village of Ban Chiang Khian, located at 1,500 meters. Lunch in the village.
- Descent to Huay Tung Tao Lake.
- Stop at the beautiful Huay Tung Tao Lake at the foot of the mountain. Swimming possible.
- Return to Chiang Mai around 5:00 p.m.
- Please note:
Don’t forget a towel for those who wish to swim at Lake Tao!
