Everything was perfect\u2014the trek is truly beautiful and nothing like the usual treks offered in Chiang Mai. Toy took the time to give us many explanations about the local fauna and flora throughout the trek. We were amazed by what we saw and enjoyed excellent coffee harvested from the village. Even though today our bodies are giant sore muscles, I highly recommend this trek for a day in the jungle. Thank you for this perfect organization. The first was a visit around Chiang Mai. We were picked up around 8 a.m. from our hotel and went to magnificent Doi Suthep with views over the city, then visited a coffee plantation with beautiful vegetation, followed by a meal in an authentic Hmong village with very beautiful landscapes.\nThe second day was elephant and rafting.\nWe arrived at a farm on the edge of the jungle \u2014 magnificent. The elephants are completely free. Warm welcome, introduction to preparing the elephants\u2019 food, then a magical walk with two female elephants. This proximity to the giants was in complete trust. Then the elephants were refreshed in the river, a memorable moment. We were filled with the sounds of unfamiliar birds, dodged caterpillars, and observed butterflies. A well-deserved lunch by the lake with local specialties, swimming as desired, observing the mountain summit and the trail traveled before returning to Chiang Mai.\nA hike of about fifteen kilometers, mainly downhill.\nA fabulous experience. A true delight for the senses.  \n\nThe climb up to 1,500 meters was tough\u2014especially for me as a bit of a beginner. That\u2019s where we had our lunch, right in the middle of the jungle, carefully prepared for us and absolutely delicious.  \n\nWe then followed a stream\u2014almost like canyoning. Not very easy, but exciting and perfectly manageable.  \n\nAfter that, we cooled off at a hidden waterfall deep in the jungle. We are a family of two adults and two children, aged 10 and 12.\n\nPrivate excursion to Doi Inthanon.\nA very comfortable car with our driver, Mr. Josh, who was particularly kind and friendly. The 5 km hike was easy, with a local guide who adapted perfectly to our pace. She stopped several times to show us the unique features of this beautiful vegetation. We didn\u2019t see many animals, but the landscapes were stunning, and we didn\u2019t encounter any other tourists. Lunch was served in a beautiful spot in the middle of the rice fields. The rainforest was truly amazing. We also visited the two royal chedis \u2014 very interesting \u2014 and enjoyed an impressive panoramic view. The final stops included a beautiful waterfall, a small Hmong market, and another breathtaking view over the rice terraces. A wonderful and well-filled day.\n\nElephant camp + rafting excursion.\nA songthaew came to pick us up at our hotel. We shared the day with another family. The elephant preservation camp was very small, with only three elephants. We had them all to ourselves for the entire afternoon (feeding, walking, and bathing). The camp truly respects the animals, who live peacefully on a large property.\nAs for the rafting \u2014 it was really, really great! Fantastic sensations (end of the rainy season) without ever feeling unsafe. We were completely soaked by the end, so make sure to bring a change of clothes. The only downside of the activity: it was too short\u2026\n\nPrivate day trip to the temples of Chiang Rai.\nThai Trek Adventure showed great flexibility since we didn\u2019t want to make the return trip. Our driver dropped us off directly at our hotel in Chiang Rai. The White Temple is absolutely incredible \u2014 a must-see! The Blue Temple is also beautiful, though the visit is shorter. The Black House and its garden are very original \u2014 a refreshing change from temples. A beautiful day overall, but it does mean quite a few hours of driving if you do the round trip.\n\nIn summary, I highly recommend Thai Trek Adventure.\nEverything was perfectly organized, and David was very responsive by email. We will keep amazing memories of these three days. The pick-up was perfectly on time as announced.\n\nAfter about an hour\u2019s drive from Chiang Mai, we arrived at the camp where we received a very warm welcome.\n\nWe were immediately immersed in the experience by changing into traditional outfits for the half-day. We started by preparing food and supplements for the elephants, then met them. It was a magical moment: we were able to feed them and spend peaceful time with them. The walk was done at their own pace, with no pressure at all.\n\nAfter lunch, we prepared their food again before sharing an exceptional moment bathing with them in the river. The elephants are clearly very well treated, respected, and never forced.\n\nWe were then transferred for a bamboo rafting trip along the river \u2014 a peaceful and very enjoyable experience.\n\nThe camp clearly prioritizes animal welfare. We were alone, just the four of us, which made the experience even more authentic.
